I launched dailyflavormeals in the spring of 2018 while I was still working 9‑to‑5 as a graphic designer in Portland, OR. I’d been swapping recipes with friends for years, but it wasn’t until a rainy Thursday I decided to blog about the week‑night pasta I’d just perfected. The first post was a simple tomato‑basil sauce with a photo taken on my phone, and it got 27 comments in the first 48 hours. That response convinced me to quit the agency job and go full‑time on the kitchen side of things.

Fast‑forward to today, dailyflavormeals reaches about 45,000 unique visitors each month and has a newsletter that ships to 12,000 food‑loving subscribers every Thursday. I’ve published three seasonal e‑cookbooks (the latest, “Spring on the Table,” hit #12 on the Amazon Food & Cooking chart in March 2024) and the site now hosts a searchable recipe database with over 350 dishes. In 2022 I added a “Meal‑Prep Monday” video series, which now averages 8,000 views per episode. The growth feels surreal, but the core mission—sharing honest, quick‑to‑make meals—has stayed exactly the same.

I’m currently based in Asheville, NC, where I live with my husband, Marco, and two rescue dogs, Olive and Scout. When I’m not whisking a sauce or testing a new spice blend, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, digging through vinyl crates for a good jazz record, or tending to the basil garden on our back porch. A fun fact: I once cooked a whole roasted cauliflower for a local farmer’s market and ended up selling out in under an hour—proof that simple ingredients can still make a big splash.
